Floor Plan - In the North East section of the floor plan is an open patio with floor to ceiling windows. The spaces that are aligned to the window walls belong to the back office of Soma Orthopedics. Here there are several offices, a conference room, supply rooms, and a break room. At the end of the corridor is the conference room. The conference room is lighted by two pendant lamps that carry the concept of the bandages with the shell appearing to wrap the space within it. The break room has sufficient space with a full kitchen. The couch within the break room provides the hard-working doctors and nurses a place to catch some rest and relaxation. The break room has access to the outside patio
with air, sunshine, and a view of the Civic Center.

Reflective Ceiling Plan - With the concept of broken bones and bandages, the ceiling helps reinforce the idea behind the concept. The ceiling grid uses Armstrong’s Metal Linear system to mimic bandage wraps going across overhead. There are three layers to the Metal Linear system that goes throughout the space, each set at different height levels and going at different directions just as real bandages that are applied to a person would. The Metal Linear system is lined with LED lights that sit above the system and shine towards the ceiling. The effect of the LED lights shining upwards gives off a diffused light to the space below.
