The upper consists of rich suede and leather. Wool around the collar is embroidered with Fila’s signature grid pattern, which is used as a subtle connection to the past. Wax laces contribute to the luxurious theme.
A gold foil “F-13” printed on the quarter adds visual pop and signifies the specialness of the shoe.
Embroidered logos detail the quality and give the style a hand-made feel.
The pigskin lining and insole provides a soft and smooth fit. Fila’s grid pattern is printed on the insole and this time contributes as a bold and playful detail to a sophisticated shoe.
Packaging for the F-13 needed to be just as special as the shoe. Fila’s signature trademarks, such as the “F-Box” logo and gray grid pattern, were used as inspiration for the box and wrapping tissue. Large gold printed “1911” and “2011” dates illustrate the importance of the package’s contents, while the 100th Anniversary logos printed on the front and sides further assist in the explanation of the dates.
The process it took to develop the packaging was very tedious. Many different layouts and prototypes were needed to correct and refine the details, measurements, and colors in order to complete the total presentation.
