Modular Shoe Thesis Project | Luau

We want to provide a new experience in the use of the sneaker, applying themes such as modularity, going hand in hand with customization and sustainability. Analyzing the sneaker culture and the main problems and difficulties found by the users in the daily use, we propose a concept of a modular shoe, being divided in between the sole and the upper. Thus, three soles and also different uppers, avaiable in various colours and patterns, being two models, one high top and one low top. The upper of the shoe is made by the knitting process, wich alows a light weight, confortable, with less ambiental impact and can be used apart from the sole, in indoors, for example. All the options are interchangeable, allowing that the user creates the style that best suits his needs and tastes, furthermore, it facilitates the transport process, since he can carry only a pair of soles or a pais of bodies, reducing the volume and weight occupied by a traditional sneaker.
