Carytown Guide Fashion section, April 2014. The theme for this fashion shoot was "Under The Sea," and required a lot of post work in photoshop to achieve the underwater feel. The look of the cover headline, "Swept Away," was created by taking photos through a glass pitcher of water of a piece of transparency film floating in it. This was a fun project and I was able to work with a great team.

Carytown Guide Fashion section, July 2013. This was a really fun fashion shoot that took a great deal of time pre-planning. Working closely with both the editor and illustrator, we developed a comic book story line that would be able to show off the super hero inspired clothing that the stylist picked, and worked out realistic poses for the model that wouldn't involve having her getting too tired trying to hold in the photo studio. Sketches were finalized, and many hours of photoshop work were involved with making the model appear to be interacting with the monsters of her comic book world.

Go South Guide, May 2011. This special section feature explored the equestrian life around Sappony Creek Farms in Chesterfield County. This story and the accompanying video I produced for the Richmondmagazine.com website won first place the Virginia Press Association awards news contest in 2011 for multimedia sports reporting.
2008. Print collateral for the 11th Annual Theresa Pollak Prizes for Excellence in the Arts awards. Hand drawing all of the lettering and doodles added a fun element to these awards centered around Richmond's art community. This piece won first place in the Virginia Press Association Advertising Contest Awards in 2008 in the Non-Paid Advertising/Member Self Promotion category.
Richmond magazine, February 2014. The theme for this months issue of the magazine was "Take 5," with each editorial section opener featuring five picks. This spread became all encompassing for me when I was asked to write about my five favorite murals, take photos and layout the page design.

Go West Guide, June 2007. Having no budget for this project, I had to get creative. But with a tuxedo borrowed and worn by a coworker, pillow sewn from scrap fabric and a little gold spray paint, this won third place in the 2007 Virginia Press Associations news contest awards for photo illustration.
Go West Guide, June 2011. For this fashion spread, real flowers and sod were brought into the photo studio to create the illusion of being outdoors for the full page photo (left).
Richmond magazine, October 2006. Scouting for just the right photo shoot location can be tough sometimes, but in this case, it was right under my nose. I painted the corner of my fan apartment bedroom robin's egg blue for this home interiors shoot for the Living section of the magazine.
