Die Hard: The Holiday Card (2020)

It all started with a publicity still from 1988; calling out to be the center piece of a holiday card. Clever, but it needed a backstory. “Die Hard” takes place at a Christmas Party. Usually there’s a photographer around taking drunk party pics ... So what if the photographer happened to walk into the Nakatomi board room and caught Hans Gruber and his terrorist crew going over the rest of the evenings “festivities?” Who would that photographer be? Let’s see; high-profile company sparing no expenses, probably would get a gallery involved ... A gallery from Beverly Hills ... with a manager who likes espresso with lemon twists, and has name pronunciation issues? Enter Serge from “Beverly Hills Cop.” Epic-shared-universe-crossover-challenge accepted. I wrote a short script depicting the scene, and created some production lore around it. The card included a removable photo, pages of the script, a snippet of film, and a card of “authenticity.”
