The ground floor entertainment area. The venue comes alive at night with the a stage for entertainment, stage seating, table tops and private seating area.
Stadium seating within bar and seating area. The water-like current running through the floor represents the water-based electrolytes that carries particles to maintain the AHI.
The mezzanine is arranged in the back of the venue area giving people a great view of the entertainment.
There is a convenient roof top cafe attached to the career development center on the fourth floor. Here clients and employees alike can enjoy the beautiful view of the city of Pittsburgh while sitting a top the Hazelwood community.
This renovation will be taking on Aquion's, Aqueous Hybrid Ion (AHI), production factory. Aquion's battery uses an activated carbon anode and a sodium- and manganese-based cathode. A water-based electrolyte carries sodium ions between the two electrodes while charging and discharging. The principle is similar to lithium-ion, but sodium ions are more abundant and therefore cheaper to use. Compared to solvent-based electrolytes, the aqueous electrolyte is also easier to work with and cheaper. Even better, the materials are nontoxic and the battery is 100 percent recyclable.

Zeotrope
The building borrows its name from the Zeotrope device. The term, zeotrope, is derived from the Greek words, Zoe, “life" and tropos, “turn“. The purpose of this renovation is to bring energy and new life back into the community of Hazelwood, Pennsylvania. The re-invention includes a water-sodium battery factory, career development center and a venue space at night. Suitable for a 24-7 sustainable building.
