Within my work I want to expand the notion of what can be considered a fabric. I am interested in the idea of using alternative materials and putting them in a new context. Wire is one material I have particular interest in investigating. I find a fascination in the way wire responds with light, color, and movement. Within my design work I focus on the manipulation of formal elements. I start my design process by taking a traditional structure and then I manipulate it to work better with the nature of the rigidity of wire. Overall, I am process oriented designer and I enjoy playing with the chance element that happens when weaving.
