Hard Drive DNA - Project developed for Hitachi Design Center Europe. The project proposes concepts for the future storage features for Hitachi. The results have been exhibited in Japan in 2005 and are patent pending. My role in the project: Conceptualisation and development of the prototypes.
DoCoDemo - Gesture Navigation Display + Bluetooth Software for User interaction + Computer Vision Software. The project has been developed for Hitachi Design Center Europe. It features gesture navigation developed specifically to fit the needs of the client. A range of solutions has been developed to accomodate different resolution of the product and variety of price ranges. The final product is patent pending. Other main feature of the display is an innovative BT software development that allows two way communication with the display. The prototype has been developed and presented at variety of conferences and exhibitions in Japan, Italy, France. My role in the project - conceptualization, BT software specification, implementation of the backend architecture and front end elements. Involvement in the development of the Computer Vision hardware for the project and building final package that connects BT software, Computer Vision hardware and the interface.
Smart Tools - Product developed for Hitachi Design Center Europe. Product consists of 3 objects working as a system to provide security for the driver, rapair team, on the road at break down time. The safety triange features wireless video communication and BT proximity sensing working together to create a visual analyses of the road danger zones. It wirelessly alerts the driver in case of emergency via BT headset and security Jacket. Security Jacket features visual and tictile warning hardware. Thrid element is a wireless toolset. The emergency rad repair toolset features BT communication between touch sensitive tools to the headset of the driver.
La mia 500 - The project is an exhibition piece developed for Salone Del Mobile Milano 2004. It has been since featured at Science Festival in Genova and became a long term exhibition piece at Telecom Italia Future Center in Venice. The piece consists of the original re-designed Fiat 500 and a gas pump. The gas pump has been redesigned to allow users wirelessly download MP3 to the car in the same manner as they pump gas. Inside the car: 1. Window drawing. Using ultrasonic sensors places near the passenger window, users can draw and write directly on the glass using regular marker pen. The messages then could be sent to the mobile phone or projected outside the car. 2. A rear view mirrow contains a hidden camera that can take snapshots of the passengers and the journey and immedietly print in in the dashboard printer. 3. Car locks are SMS enabled. THe user has to send an SMS to the number plate of the car. He then recieves a messag back with the instructions and the car doors get unlocked. My role: Conceptualization and full implementation.
360' Micro - Design Workshop leader in collaboration with Fiat Advanced Design and Interaction Design Institute Ivrea. Lead the conceptualization, development and documentation phases of the workshop with the objective to conceptualise future interactive interior for FIAT. Lead a group of internatinal designers to develop a fiat interactive brand.
