Photoshop mockups & design guidelines were defined. HTML/CSS and required implementation support was provided to the development team.
Based on the user requirement analysis, task flows were defined. Page level wireframes were defined and formative testing was conducted with select group of citizens and government employees. Design was iterated based on feedback.
These are some actual photographs taken during the usability research phase and usability testing. User Research was carried out to identify the needs of the citizens and of the government staff. Contextual Inquiry, personal interviews, survey and focus group discussions were conducted to collect information.
Pune Mirror newspaper publicly accredited the redesigned webportal of Pune Municipal Corporation as “extremely easy navigation” and “very good quality of design” after comparing it to 10 other e-governance websites across the city and state.

Grievance Redress System - Web Application UX

Pune Municipal Corporation is the local government of one of the largest cities in India. The local government is split into 15 offices and manages a population of over 3,000,000 people. The requirement was to develop an effective ‘grievance redress system’ which would help citizens lodge their grievances electronically and also help the officials to effectively manage them.
