Customizable 3D Printed Necktie
I designed this Necktie using OpenSCAD, an open source CAD program where an object is defined by lines of code. After many revisions I uploaded it to Thingiverse as part of a challenge to create a customizable design. I didn't win, but the design was eventually featured on the home page of Thingiverse. Bre Pettis, Makerbot and Thingiverse founder, commented on my design, calling it "Impressive!".
The tie is optimized for 3D printing with a consumer FDM printer, and the size and pattern of the tie can be customized.
