This is a personal project I completed to practice my digital painting and drawing skills. The goal of my project was to design and develop a character (I ended up doing two) and create them in a final illustration. I started out with rough sketches with paper and pencil to decide how I wanted my characters to look and act. Next I drew one more paper and pencil drawing that I wanted to make into a digital version. I took my final drawing and put it into Photoshop. I used the paint brush tool and a tablet to create just the line work first, then I added color, shading, and highlights in various layer. Finally I made a background and put everything together into my final Illustration. The characters I designed are Lola and Mochi. Lola is a young, adventurous girl with a bright, yet reckless personality. Mochi is Lola’s loyal fox friend. He is very cautious and worrisome, he is always discouraging Lola’s crazy ideas.
