Lasercut Tower Optimization

For a design optimization experiment, the goal was to create the tallest freestanding towers out of a single sheet of A4 cardboard. I created a MatLab program to draw lines in AutoCad to create a design that would be traced on a laser-cutter. The program allows you to easily manipulate dimensions of the base, slots, number of vertical segments to create the tallest most stable structure. Out of a 8x11.5in cardboad segment, I was able to create a tower reaching 84"
