This application on the TCG site takes a photo of kids using their home webcam and matches their face to one of over a hundred Pokémon using facial recognition software. Different funny faces will create different matches, and every match unlocks that character’s card into your deck for online play.
Pokémon are taking over your city! This viral campaign posts artistic QR codes in points of interest around major cities across the US. “Catching” these QR codes using your smart phone unlocks that unique character in your online TCG deck and delivers exclusive information about the new series. QR stickers are also placed in the hands of kids all across the US through magazine inserts and retail promotions, giving them the power to hide Pokémon around their own neighborhoods. These codes could be hidden anywhere, so get hunting!
