Conceptual Installation: Venice Biennale

Proposal for 2009 Venice Biennale exploring the phenomenon of humans' compulsion to watch things transpire on a television screen rather than experience them in reality. All design installations are projected onto a scrim which lines the hall. If one chooses to go all the way to the end, they are rewarded with a projection of a large glass box full of Venetian canal water behind a monofilament wall. If they are inclined to walk through that barrier, they have access to sensory interaction with that canal water as well as all of the physical exhibits behind the scrim, and can view the participants on the other side of the screen who haven't yet (and my not ever) pass through.
