Financial Aid - Before This page would be relocated into the Student Support tab for better work flow. The are is only accessed every 6 months, so it was felt that a support placement made more sense.
Resources - Before This page was put through a "card sort" exercise to better group the various links into categories. Then most of these links were put into the new Student Support tab. Some support centers were moved into another new tab, the Success Centers.
Help - Before The information that is in this tab was moved into the Student Support tab.
Success Centers (new) - After This was a newly created tab to house the various Centers that help students progress through their course work. The existing Centers were a little difficult to find in the previous layout. This design also allows a launching point for new Centers as they are developed.
Student Support (new) - After This new main navigation tab was the result of recategorizing the existing links in the Resources tab and redesign of the page layout. Financial Aid was also integrated into this support page.

WGU Student Portal reskin - Before and After

WGU went through a corporate rebranding on the external, marketing side of the business. This gave the student portal an opportunity to align with Marketing and update the look and feel of the student facing portal. The UX team had just finished a year long project of updating the CSS and HTML to make a project like this a must easier task to update. The visual update was successfully implemented with no negative impact on the students. (2016)
