Architecture design &build workshop

For this project I assisted in developing 3D models and prototype installations for this design/build workshop taught in the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
This workshop focused primarily on the idea of an architecture built from the inside out rather than the outside in.
The workshop began by examining the microenvironments of the street level context of Halifax. In addition, an analysis was applied to the perceived relationships between the population and the city’s pedestrian infrastructure.
Students created a solid geometric module scaled to a particular size; in this case, the bisymmetric hendecahedron. The individual forms were placed in groups of arrangements to build a number of façades and an interior space. It was not necessary for aspects of the design to look literally like typical façade elements or a room. The emphasis was on the hybridity of the larger forms and spaces made from a single, small module.
