The Other Hangover
Previous efforts to curb binge drinking among college students have highlighted the health and safety risks that accompany excessive drinking: these messages continued to be ignored and discounted by college students. "The Other Hangover" campaign focuses not on liver damage, but rather, on how over-consumption can cause damage to your reputation.
Noticing the brilliance and innovative thinking behind the campaign, The Century Council awarded the University of Minnesota with a grant to implement the campaign in 2010. The campaign instantly gained the attention of local and national media attention alike. In addition, numerous campuses across the nation requested the campaign materials, wishing to implement the campaign on their own campuses. After The Other Hangover successfully lowered over-consumption rates and changed attitudes about binge-drinking among college students within the first year, we were awarded a grant to continue the campaign the consecutive year.
