An exploration of Chinese calligraphy and Western visual communication design.
The goal was to abstract selected Chinese characters with Western logoform aesthetics to create a new set of hybrid symbols that adhered to guidelines that dictate the structure of Chinese calligraphy.
Each seal contains an abstracted Chinese character that was designed, digitally traced then lasercut into hardwood walnut.
