T-Shirt - The primary criteria for the look of this t-shirt was that it was fun and eye-catching enough to sell well at the powerlifting event that it was designed for. With that in mind, I drew the illustration by hand and created a design inspired by the muscleman ads found in the back of comic books in the 1950's. The result was happy client and a lot of t-shirts sold at the event. Created with: Pen and Ink, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Newsletter - Financial Forum was a quarterly newsletter for accounting industry that was customized by subscribers and used as a marketing material to send out to their clients. The look needed to be clean and professional for the accounting industry as well as open-ended enough to work with a variety of corporate identities. The color palette was designed to change according to the season. Created with: QuarkXpress, Adobe Photoshop

Brochure - From the velum cover to the curves and circles motif this design was intended to evoke the look and feel of the company's logo as well as to present several streams of information in a clear and easy to understand fashion. As is sometimes the case, the photographs that were to be used in this brochure were not the best quality but through judicious use of screening and cropping I was able to make the most of what I had to work with. Invitation - The main criteria for the design of this invitation was that it needed to convey a sense of fun while communicating a bunch of information clearly, and with a look and feel that harkens back to 1950s poster design that's exactly what I went for. The end result was greatly enjoyed and easily understood by all the guests. Created with: Adobe InDesign

Brochure - The client in this case was a rehabilitation and assisted-living center that wanted emphasize a lively, positive feeling. The design opens to reveal first a gatefold and then a four panel spread that are intended evoke the warm and welcoming nature of the facility while the stylized mosaic look of the piece refers not only to the name but also to the physical mosaic that is significant architectural feature of the building. Logo & Identity - Since this project was a logo and identity for a powerlifting team I wanted to avoid the obvious iconography of musclemen and barbells while still creating something that communicated a sense of strength. The end result was this industrial look with the abstracted machinery in the logo and the gritty look and feel of the materials that the finished pieces were printed on. Created with: Adobe Illustrator
Newsletter - This piece was a promotional pediatric newsletter for a children's hospital, and the look had to give a sense of being about children while still targeting adult readers which turned out to be a bit of a design challenge. The solution involved using color and imagery to give it a somewhat child-like flavor while using clean typography and page layout to give it a more sophisticated, grown-up undertone.
