These are some illustrations I have been working on for a children's picture book. The story, simple and sweet in it's demeanor, is wordless, told solely through illustration. The book,titled Gentle Giant, illustrates the friendship that develops between a young boy and a manatee.
The Illustrations are done by cutting, tearing, and collaging tissue paper that I've washed with watercolor.

Finished Illustration - My plan for final illustrations is an all white background, allowing the tissue papers to come forward in full contrast.
