MadCatz Inc. are a leading organisation in the gaming peripheral market. Their products range from Keyboards & Mice, to headsets and even consoles. They were, in my opinion, the perfect company to partner with on my MA Final Thesis.
I traveled to Magor, South Wales, to meet with Design Manager Rob Hall to discuss how my research could be integrated into their brand and into one of their products. We both agreed that headsets were the perfect choice as they could truly test the theories behind Proprioceptive Design. Proprioception is the sense of space in which the body operates and works within.
Understanding and discovering a ‘hand/finger placement’ around your ear was vital as it informed both the design of the product, as well as back up the Emotional Proprioception Thesis.
