Women at Work Paintings

"Women at Work" series, first exhibited at the Bowers Museum in 2011. in this series, I have tried to document the realities of everyday struggle of the women in Pakistan for an urban audience. The responsibilities of these women do not afford them the luxury of education, creative expression, or lofty dreams and ambitions. the story of their lives is one of survival through hard work.

"Distance Learning", many girls are not allowed to go to school.
"Washing Machine", household chores fall on women's shoulders.
"Take-Out", women are expected to deliver food to their men in the fields.
"Food Processor", women are responsible for all aspects of food processing.
"Baby Monitor", when the world sleeps, a woman will still stay awake to take care of her children.
"Running Water", In many villages wells are located by the masjid which is the village center.
