"The color of the pomegranate" collection portfolio

The collection has a very deep and symbolic meaning.
24th of April 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide and this collection is dedicated to its memory.
The concept was not chosen only because of my Armenian origins, but also to bring attention to the cruelties taking place in the world even today, hoping to never repeat the same mistake in the future.
The collection is influenced by Armenian traditional costumes and colours. The dominating colours are red and blue which are the colours of the final period of the Rubenidov dynasty (the kingdom of Cilicia XII-XIV century).
Red symbolizes the Armenian highland, the Armenian people's continued struggle for survival, maintenance of the Christian faith, Armenia's independence and freedom. Blue symbolizes the will of the people of Armenia to live beneath peaceful skies.
Also the title has a symbolic meaning, representing all the lost innocent lives.
