EV-0 RR

EV-0 RR TTXGP zero carbon fuel Grand Prix Motorcycle - Grantham-based Evo Design Solutions was the first company to commit to the TTXGP zero carbon fuel Grand Prix.

The race is to be held on the same day as the premier Senior TT event on June 12 and will run on the 37.73 mile Isle of Man TT course.

These concept sketches and renderings, produced using photoshop, have been created for an article in MCN. The bike will use a composite monocoque chasis and a double whishbone front end from Steve Linsdell's TT bike.

  • Thanks, I was pretty happy with it. It took around 12 hours, a bit of over kill but we wanted it to create an impact.

  • Hello Shane, Thanks for the comment. The chaps at Evo Designs are planning to use twin electric motors. In theory the power delivery should be infinitely tunable. They are not releasing any details at the moment and we were only given a basic layout to work with.

  • The 5am finish worth the effort then ;-)

  • Licio da Rocha, Thank you for the comment

  • Hello Chaps thanks for the comments, The monocoque idea was developed by Peter Williams in conjunction with Lotus. It is coupled with an evolution of the Yamaha GTS1000 double wishbone suspension. This offers a platform that is incredibly stiff yet should also prove stable around the course.

  • Hello Fellas, Thanks again for all of the kind comments. I sketch on paper, scan it, and render in PS with a mouse and a pen/tablet. I still can't get my head around sketching with a tablet. I'd love a Cintiq but they are still too pricey.

  • Thanks Arnau

  • I am guessing 3 phase ac induction motors? Do you know if it will be a single speed design or if it will use a transmission? I am looking into using an external gearbox for my design to improve power delivery, but I haven't found any good options.
