Collaborative project between Robyn Meier Bouchard and Mark Veljkovich, created to help educate the regional creative community and general public about the hundreds of thousands of dead trees in the Rocky Mountain Forests caused by the mountain pine beetle. The trees are stained blue and left for dead, posing a risk of forest fire. Despite their premature death the wood harvested from these trees is structurally equal to trees not infected. "Beetle Kill" pine is now a common and often preferred material for contractors and furniture makers throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
