Collection View - A view of all the pieces I worked on for a 2007 Milan Furniture Festival project in China
Fruit Bowl - Carbonised Bamboo - A fruit bowl constructed from carbonised bamboo which acts, in many ways, a lot like a ceramic.
Wave Shelf - Cast Bamboo Composit - A shelf with internal lighting designed to show off a kind of bamboo composite that is sometimes used in China. The unit is a single piece of cast composite.
Wave Shelf - Lit - The shelf when backlit.
Armchair - Edge Sewn Bamboo - A simple chair constructed from sew sections of bamboo. This process is sometimes used in very strong and rigid bags in parts of China. In this case the bamboo is sectioned with curved boundaries to create the compounded curve around the back of the seat.
Armchair - Sapling Bundles - A simple chair and dinner chair series. Both are formed from tightly bundled bamboo shoots that are formed after being combined. This allows for complex curves to be created and sustained. This method is taken from a method used in a variety of traditional Chinese dwelling in which complex shapes could be made using many arrayed elements of weaker bamboo as opposed to fewer pieces of a stronger kind.
