installation - Go to bed hungry

Figures made of wire, wool, boxes, and yew branches were created to lay atop a bed in the center of the student concourse, at the Blue River Campus of Metropolitan Community College. The installation remained on site through the fall semester and was eventually covered with snow, enhancing the form and message of the piece. Artist talks were given and information distributed to the students and faculty, which offered information regarding local food pantries, and statistics on the number of people on the planet who go to bed hungry every night. At the time of the installation, the number was 800,000. Since 2007, that number has grown.
