Move Fashion spread - "Move" was a fashion spread that I designed in part with Piotr Sikora's amazing photography, and some background shots that I took. This was displayed in Issue #45 of YRB magazine, a national urban culture magazine. Continue reading these descriptions for more.
Yrb Magazine Spread - YRB's Editor-in-Chief had commissioned some photographs from Piotr Sikora for a fashion spread, and then hired me to direct this series, from concept to execution. Using the photographs given to me, I sketch out some ideas, and got an approval on this long exposure technique, which contrasted with her static, still stances.
YRB--Fashion Spread - Even though the photographs of the model were retouched by the incredible staff over at Fuel... I felt that for these two, I had to shift the color palette over a few notches. So i took it to another level, using the great touch-ups we got from them and then adjusting them finely to composite properly. All background shots were retouched and color corrected by me. All levels were manually set, and all backgrounds were shot within a 3 day radius in Brooklyn, New York, with an overcast.
YRB fashion spread - This was shot utilizing the normally discarded variations of a "hot shoe". Using a minute bracket, I set the camera to shoot off three shots, which when composited on top of each other, and retouched, allowed for the sense of motion conveyed in the background of this piece. The green ambience really pops with the pink ensemble. It holds very strongly in print.
YRB-fashion spread - F.8, Iso 100, I believe...I left the aperture open for almost 20 seconds or so. A bus came by. She didn't get on it, I guess... Well technically, she was never there... Gotta love photoshop. Note: There is a halo around her... I did that on purpose, to pop her out a little, it's almost insignificant in print, but it does help the image. Just a choice of the technique, but it's intended, If you hire me, and don't like the halo. it's just a masked layer and could be resolve in 5 seconds, per say.
