Emergency Shelter for Disasters

In this short second year project were given the chance to design whatever we liked. I chose to undertake an architectural project as it was an area i hadn't worked in before.

The final design is a flat packed emergency shelter that can be sent to disaster ridden countries or areas in standard sized air drop containers. The shelter can be easily constructed by a small team of people on location.

The materials used are all lightweight and if damaged can be easily replaced as they can be readily sourced. The shelter utilises the scenario it will be used in. Rubble and wreckages can be used to weigh the shelter down as well as raise it from the ground, reducing the risk of illness and disease often found in such areas.
