Forza Horizon

2012 - Forza Horizon
Developer: Playground Games
Format: XBox 360

Forza Horizon is open world racing game created as a spin-off from the hugely successful Forza franchise. I was hired as an environment artist and had a broad spread of responsibilities. A large majority of the artwork for the project was outsourced so the bulk of the work on the title involved stitching/blending assets together, dressing the world and creating the roads, roadsides and bridges. Although the outsourced work largely required extensive reworks I still had the opportunity to create a wide variety of dressing objects. I worked on almost every area of the world map but had a primary focus on the industrial area. This was one of the most densely populated zone's in the game (for assets and track) and presented a fun challenge. In addition to the above work I was also responsible for performance analysis (using PIX) and did extensive work ensuring everything ran smoothly and seamlessly.
