Initial designs for my scales
Initial designs for my scales
A hand drawn side view of my final design, i changed the idea of having the dove tail joint after thinking about its manufacturing process and realizing it was an unnecessary and time consuming feature.
A 2 point perspective drawing of my scales, drawn by hand and rendered using Letraset Promarkers
This board was created to show the form and aesthetics of my product, i tried to model my product to look like it was from a cartoon, hence the name "toon scales" i chose the vibrant colours to show off the products playfulness and to convey the toon theme.
This was my initial board to represent the functional aspects of the product, it was created to show off the products motion and ease of assembly.
This presentation board was to show off the products functional attributes, such as its ability to be disassembled to make it easier to store. this was a revision of my initial board as i felt that the board needed to be made more personal and it needed some context.

Toy scales

This was the technical project for the first year my product design degree. The brief was to create a set of scaled that could balance 100 grams of sweets with 10 2p coins. after some initial sketching and development i came up with this idea, it was designed to convey a catoonish feel that would appeal to the target audience. it was modeled and rendered in Solidworks and the presentation boards were created in Photoshop.
