3D proof of concept and feasibility testing
Solidworks renderings were done as material and finish studies
Renderings of details were done to flush out connections and proportions before construction.
At work building the Prototype. The legs were constructed out of 11 separate pieces of 3/4" rod that were bent with a torch, and then welded together.
Each block was attached to a rubber membrane in order to keep the blocks in place as well as allow for easy removal and cleaning of the top component. The small kerfs were created between each tile to allow for movement.
Spacers were placed in between each tile during construction to ensure proper alignment of the blocks was maintained.
