fun. grid art | pen + ink | 2006. We were to depict a portrait of a celebrity using grid drawing technique. This project led my creativity and originality to its finest; I filled each grid with my original patterns and my favorite objects to create a larger picture. To add a little more fun to this project, I also hid some objects, animals and scenaries into some of the grids. So, go on and stare at it a little longer!
skills. realism | pencil | 2006. A simple drawing exercise using white negative crossed space to create the illusion as if the viewer is looking out the window. This drawing best depicts my hand-drawing skills and my ability to work in high level of details without relying on recent technology.
devising. stippling | fine-tipped marker | 2007. Pick an object. Spell out the object name. Fill in the letters with the object itself. The various shades of blue allows the viewers to see that there are an assortment of buttons depicted. The use of different shapes and sizes adds variety, yet works within the letter boundaries to ensures its legibility. Finally, the use of a large button for the letter “O” and addition of a needle and thread breaks the clutter of colors and shapes.
recognized. crinkled paper | watercolor | 2007 Although I usually do not work with watercolor, this artwork earned an Honorable Mention at The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in Richmond, VA.
