history of graphic design exhibition poster - The task was to design an Exhibition poster for the Albright Knox Art Gallery, located in Buffalo, NY. The poster had to be done in a specific graphic design style and had to follow the visual parameters of said style. I chose the Vienna Secession epoch, and accordingly, my poster utilizes two-dimensional flat shapes, an elongated format, borders, justified text, highly illustrative font, female figures, patterns, and the use of a minimal color pallette.

fun. album redesign a - I decided I wanted to incorporate an additional challenge into this project, and so I sought to change the meaning of the use of the shotgun. In the original album cover, the gun seeks to kill. In my version, the gun seeks to actually ignite fun, which is played upon by the use of flowers and greens exploding from the trigger, opposed to a bullet.
fun. album redesign b - The 'fun' in this redesign comes from a visual play with the old phrase 'hide and seek.' The peacock hides, nestled discreetly between blue flowers, cleverly camouflaged. The viewer can clearly view the bird, however the hunter is playfully fooled.
fun. album redesign c - In redesign 'c' I wanted to exaggerate the peacocks in mocking of the gunman. There position and placement taunt and poke fun at a ludicrous sport. It is the gunman who aims, yet the birds who ignite fun.

I compiled a list of synonyms and constructed them graphically into a clock, promoting the idea that time is never-ending.

solution 'b' for 'word it project: never-ending' - In the same fashion as solution 'a', I constructed the synonyms of 'never-ending' graphically in depiction of the universe, promoting the notion that the universe is of course, never-ending.

Cover design for dvd 'Surface Matter' - The goal of this project was to use type as a medium to achieve texture, which would ultimatley behave as a visual collage, as 'Surface Matter' is a movie which details the lives of collage artists. I embraced the movement of constructivism in this designs reaching, architectural forms. Yet I softened up this sleek and industrial movement by adding vintage colors to the text.

Movie Poster for documentary 'Helvetica' - The task for this movie poster was to embrace the Swiss Typographic Style. I did so, but with a surprising and creative twist to the circular form. Letters which comprise the word 'helvetica' are highlighted in red, thus showing how the components of helvetica are literally changing the world, one letter at a time.
