Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare is well known locally for their excellent women and infants care. Realizing the strong community of moms and moms-to-be online asking questions, searching for information, and connecting with women who had similar experiences, they saw an opportunity to better connect with them online. An integrated and branded social media plan was created and implemented. Facebook pages and application were created allowing women to share their questions, needs and stories about pregnancy and motherhood. A blog was dedicated to allow Wheaton’s medical professionals to share their expertise and guidance to anyone expecting, mothers with newborns, or those considering having a baby. Twitter feed also allowed women to follow daily links and information on the birthing experience.
