The Capsule package is a spiral-wound container that is reusable and recyclable. The Capsule is designed to create a unique unboxing experience and is made from renewable resources such as bamboo, sugar cane, and paper. The capsule is made in factories that utilize solar and wind power and recycled water, and is made using FSC materials. The design uses a sizing and manufacturing system that allows for economies of scale with common parts, simplifying inventory management and outdated packaging.
The capsule design sets the tone for the customers' first interactions with their new devices and services. There are two versions, a direct-ship package with a brown kraft exterior and minimal graphics. For retail, photorealistic renderings of the devices pair with simple feature iconography and partner logos. The molded fiber lid has an embossed logo and the sealing label has both braille and printed graphics.
