An Office Fling playfully realizes the dream of sweeping everything off your desk for a steamy tryst with a co-worker. The desk accessories in this fantasy workspace are connected with silk ribbons so they can be immediately drawn back into place. These items have also been given a twist.
What began as research into play in the workspace eventually became a playful design for an imaginary office romance. Once the concept was set, the final model was created by modifying an existing conference table. The process of making the model involved bending, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNCing, and stitching.
Many things had to be taken into account in the physical design of the desk. It had to be sturdy and functional as a desk, but also function in the sweeping and yanking back of all the office items on top.
The movie portrays two flirtatious office workers who lose control. They sweep everything off their shared desk and throw each other down for a fantastical fling. Many of the desk items were given secondary uses. From inboxes to neck ties, everything had a secret purpose.
