Material innovation is key
What I wanted to communicate through this project is how important materials are both to the designer for innovative opportunities but also in the larger context.
The impact of product lifecycles and the extent of discarded packaging could always be an issue, but what IF there was another way to look at litter and packaging!
What IF litter was good!
With plant based biodegradable polymers this is a real opportunity, with added monomer molecules, (nitrogen for example), within the polymer chain, packaging can not only be degradable but can also provide a source of food for the surrounding plant life.
