If I Were African-American - [self-portrait (original 24x30"), pastels] Race is not the single thing that defines us; it's just one aspect of our physical appearance. This self-portrait was a study of the facial features that distinguish one race from another. Beginning with an accurate drawing of myself, I began to morph my features to be like those of African-American example imagery. Even with cornrows in my hair or a darker skin tone, the portrait is still recognizable as mine.
Who Needs Physics... - [homemade greeting (including found images)] This card was created for a specific friend, but could be understood and enjoyed by a larger audience. "Who needs physics...we've got chemistry!" was inspired by a quote from the movie Peggy Sue Got Married, starring a young Nicholas Cage.
Sto Lat! - [homemade greeting (including original message, baby pictures, found images)] This card was created for a specific friend, but could be understood and enjoyed by a larger audience. It literally translates the Polish birthday greeting, "Sto Lat!" into English.
