RMB, Campus Signage - The new signage was required for the various offices and their main campus in Sandton Johannesburg. The design took advantage of location technology and materials to help elevate the brand build on the brand values and establish the new brand in the environment. The two main pieces of signage made extensive use of granite and LED illumination technology to cement the new Identity and reinforce the chosen brand colours.
3Line, Building Signage - The new 3 Line identity took advantage of a visual trick to suggest a 3 dimensional shape. The signage needed to exploit this aspect without also distorting the identity and making it unreadable from other angles. The design took advantage of pin mounted plates at varying heights behind which neon tube could be hidden. This gave the necessary depth and form to the design while allowing the sign to work effectively at night.
Pearl Valley Concept Signage Sketches - The Pearl Valley Estate is part of the Istimare’s international portfolio of premier luxury living destinations. The form language of the sketches above drew from the swirl logo design of the estate and utilized natural elements of wood and stone to help settle the various elements in the landscape. After the initial phase of design Pearl Valley required an additional level of cheaper and highly scalable signage.

Exxaro Signage Rollout - Exxaro resources approached HKLM to developed and totally brand all aspects of the mining companies operations. The project called for applied branding in the form of signage and way finding for its 14 business units around Southern Africa. In total the signage project alone took 2 years to design manufacture and implement during which HKLM oversaw all aspects of the project on behalf of Exxaro.

SMUD Lobby way finding system - This project was started in 2008 in conjunction with Design Annex for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). SMUD main lobby of the head office needed to be better signed and organized to better help customers navigate to, from and through the various exhibitions and service areas available to the public in the open lobby area.
