The Poona Company - Identity + Business Card - This card was designed for a dealer of antique prints and other collectible art items. She wished to have a logo that conveyed the medium of most of her items and that would have a professional, old-world look in a modern design. aug 2007 please note: personal information has been edited out to preserve confidentiality.
The Poona Company - Final Card - This was the final printed card for the Poona Company. Please refer to earlier image for the digital design mockup.
My New BCard 1 - Since moving back to India, I needed a new card with updated contact details. I designed it to match my existing brand identity and website (www.namitasekhar.com). Though I really liked my old card, the detailed and semi-handmade nature of the card made it too expensive to mass produce... so I keep them exclusively for interviews :) Introducing my brand new, made-in-India calling cards!

My New BCard 3 - Since moving back to India, I needed a new card with updated contact details. I designed it to match my existing brand identity and website (www.namitasekhar.com). Roots Furniture - Identity - This logo was designed for a company that creates furniture from slices of dead wood, making beautiful, functional sculpture out of fallen trunks. After experimenting with a number of logos that touched on the more earthy aspect of the furniture, the above logo was agreed upon as one that was modern and not too rural-looking, and conveyed the basic concept of the furniture in the most minimal way.
Samatva Wellness Center - Identity - This was created for a new health and wellness center that wished to emphasise the spiritual and therapeutic aspect of the classes and sessions that take place there. I envisioned their logo as a balanced entity of three "eggs" which represent calmness, with the spiritual aspect captured in the subtle yogic lotus position.
Web Banners for The Cook's Cottage - These are banners for The Cook's Cottage, a popular culinary blog that can be found at http://www.thecookscottage.com I envisioned the banners as parallels to the vibrant quality of this blog, which covers recipes and food-related news and events that span South Asia. In addition, I created the packaging and corporate identity for thecookscottage brand, which will be uploaded soon.
Pro Bono Project: Logo for Road to Detroit Campaign - The Road to Detroit campaign involves a biodiesel-fueled bus trip that aims to inform young people about renewable fuels, and culminates in a demonstration in Detroit. I was asked to design a monochrome logo that was devoid of the "hippie/activist" stereotype, for T-shirts and other fundraising products, and that attracted a mainstream young adult crowd. I used a simple silhouette with strong typography to make a solid statement that would not be out of place on a college student's sweatshirt.
