Brighton Japan Festival

I was contracted by Moshimo, Brighton to create a new artwork to replace the one by Shohei Otomo for the Brighton and Japan Festival. The client requested a traditional Japanese figure with a modern, funky digital feel, as well as a sense of sexiness and danger. The artwork was intended to be used on apparel, signage, print, and website.

I created a digital illustration in Adobe Photoshop. I used a combination of traditional Japanese design elements, such as the kimono and the cherry blossom, with modern digital effects, such as vibrant neon colours and glitchy textures.

The end result was a visually stunning and dynamic illustration that captured the essence of both traditional and modern Japanese design while also being sexy and dangerous. The artwork was well received by the client and festival attendees alike, and it became a popular symbol of the Brighton and Japan Festival.
