This was the first proposed mechanism, the trough was going to be vacuum fed. The water would fill to a set level before stopping due to a vacuum in the bottle. This design was abandoned in favor of a simpler design because the production costs would have been too high.
This is the current design of the mechanism for the AquaTrough. The mechanism works identically to a sports bottle. The user would need to squeeze the bottle and water will jet out into the trough, this mechanism was chosen because the productino costs were much lower.

My client James also wanted to use the bottle from the AquaBrush in another product he wanted me to design. My client wanted to add a portable watertrough, for dog walkers, to his range of products. James had asked that the design fit around the form of his new bottle.
The Product is currently in production.
