PROFESSIONAL Marketing Campaign for an Event

The poster is part of a marketing campaign that was undertaken to promote an event in the Greater Michiana area. It is an announcement for an Indian dance performance of Odissi, hosted at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center at the University of Notre Dame. Odissi is a centuries old lyrical dance form from India. The image captures the dancer in tribhanga—a tri-curve pose that is symbolic of this dance form. It consists of three bends in the body and is one of the most graceful and sensual positions of the Odissi dance form. The poster draws its inspiration from this tri-curve pose for the composition which is echoed in the layout with the typography on the top and middle of the poster creating a triad with the image in the middle—creating a tri-curve very much like that of the tribhanga.
