Training Portal, Veritas, Pune - Designing web based and desktop based interfaces through which the present training system in Veritas could be automated. The challenge in this project was to study the task flow of the people involved (the managers, the employees and the HR manager) and proposing an automated system which would increase the efficiency of the system and at the same time reduces their work load. The process followed was - contextual enquiry - analysis of the data gathered - preparing affinity charts - task analysis comparing the present and proposed system - concept generation - Scenarios and Use Cases - paper prototyping - detailed prototyping following Apple specifications for the desktop based interface - user testing - preparing form and behavioral documents to be given to the developers.
Handheld Device for sports journalists - To develop a handheld device for a print media journalist specializing in sports. The handheld would aid them to -See latest updates and news in his areas of interest. -See a detailed schedule of the sports event which he is going to cover. -Manage his own schedule accordingly. -Capture the event -Take still pictures -zoom in/ zoom out -Pan left/ pan right -Enter the critical details of the sport efficiently and quickly with the help of the keypad. -Combine the sports coverage with the player's interviews, public opinions, winner's records etc. -Send the still images and text to the main center along with his signatures appended with it for authenticity of his coverage. The process followed is -Brainstorming -User Research -Scenarios and personas -Task Analysis -Conceptualization -Information Structuring -Use Cases -Prorotyping -User testing

Script Mail, HP Labs, India - A classroom project that required a systems design approach to develop a handwriting recognition device. It involved Interface design students and Product design students working in a multidisciplinary team. The key strength of the project was the extensive research done in rural and urban areas in order to come up with customized design solutions for each context. I was involved in the complete user-centric design process. The process followed was - contextual enquiry - analysis of gathered data - generation of design solutions - prototyping - user testing - documentation.
