Abbott Nutrition - Calcium formula dispenser This product is inspired by vintage liquid dispenser machines, and is a kitchen appliance. This revisited vintage style may appeal to seniors, happy to remember their past. The system uses gravity and traditional formula cans inside (with a specifically developed connector). With time, formula tends to form a single block, so it is equipped with a rotating blade system that helps to break the formula back into powder, and deliver it. This is much easier to use than baby powder dispensers, because seniors can find it difficult to lift up the dispenser + the weight of the can.

Brief:
Design a new system to help seniors/elderly to reinforce their bones easily, thanks to calcium powder drinks. The system should help the elderly to always get the same amount of calcium powder, so their digestion can be optimal. The product must not use any electronics and must be dishwasher proof.
Strategic design choice:
Instead of reinventing the wheel, the choice was made to survey all existing systems to deliver liquids, powders and medicine. An evaluation of efficiency was made, plus some research in ergonomics was conducted, especially on the elderly lack of strength and potential difficulties to use products with one hand.
