Invitation to my dad's 70th birthday party. I entered this into the Cards & Pockets Annual Design Contest for 2019 and it was chosen as one of the top ten finalists! It did not win, unfortunately. In a sea of mostly wedding invitations or ensembles that had more pieces/parts to carry the design through, the fact that this was ONE CARD but made it to the top ten was a success, in my opinion! The mirror green envelope liner with ultra black envelopes makes it pretty snazzy. His birthday is in May, so we chose green for the party theme colors since May's birthstone is emerald. I wanted a more masculine but "Puttin' on the Ritz" feel to the invitation.
Our wedding invitation suite was selected as a top 10 finalist in the Cards and Pockets 2017 Design Contest. Woohoo! Concept, illustration, design, material sourcing
Detail of the wax seal we used and a paper airplane that was used for our "send off." We carried the paper airplane motif throughout the invitation suite and other signage.
