The schematic design for the remodel of the council chambers focused on creating a more functional, inclusive, and visually cohesive space that meets current code and user needs. The design team addressed several key challenges, including exiting requirements, accessibility compliance for ramps, stage access, and audience seating. Layout modifications were developed to improve circulation and ensure ADA compliance, enhancing the experience for both the public and council members. Additionally, acoustic performance and seating arrangements were carefully studied to improve speech intelligibility, audience comfort, and overall engagement during public meetings. This phase established the framework for a responsive and modern civic space that supports transparency, participation, and community presence.
