Sustainable Footwear Design

I designed a pair of fully sustainable, flat-packable shoes for children from a sketch on the page to a final, working model. The shoes were mainly made of Tyvek - a fibrous, tear-resistant, waterproof and recyclable composite material. My research indicated that most Americans throw out their old shoes, which never truly break down in landfills, and the fast pace at which children outgrow their shoes provided an opportunity for a new market and brand. This led to the creation of "Wraps".
