Gong Fu Cha

This tea trolley was designed to perform the traditional Chinese Gong Fu tea ceremony. Part of which involves pouring water over the cups before the tea is poured. The trolley has also been designed to house a plant, an Azalea, Gardenia, Daphne or Hydrangea. After the tea is drunk the used tea leaves are applied directly onto the soil of the plant which sits just inside the circular hole on the face of the trolley. Old tea leaves contain tannic acid which increase the pH level in soil. These four plants react well to this, aiding them to grow and demonstrating a recycling process within the trolley. The excess water from the tea drinking is also utilized by draining into a lower camber to cool which can then be removed and used to water the plant.
